Berkeley County, W. Va., miscellaneous volumes, 1849-1928.

Miscellaneous account books, 1849-1905, commonplace books and scrapbooks, 1860s-1905, and other volumes, 1858-1928, from Berkeley County, W. Va., collected by Thornton Tayloe Perry. The account books cover farm management, harness and saddle making, and mercantile activities. The commonplace and scrapbooks contain autographs of Confederate soldiers, household and farm accounts, poetry, and recipes. The other volumes include Ethel Boyd Bowers "Ribbon Winning Show Horses of 1916"; an autograph album kept at Marlowe Jr. High School, 1926-1928; minutes, 1902- 1904, of the Gerrardstown Mite Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South (kept in a justice of the peace judgment docket, 1850s); minutes, 1877, of the Martinsburg Amateur Literary Society; and a student notebook, 1858-1859, kept while attending St. James College, Hagerstown, Md.
